Airport / Kandy |
Arrive at Bandaranaike
International Airport, Sri Lanka, the tropical paradise, and be warmly
greeted by our courteous staff who will garland you on arrival and
thereafter continue to Kandy via Pinnawala
‘Pinnawela', is
the home for young Elephants who have been displaced or lost from their
natural habitat. This is the only such sanctuary in the world; you will
watch the beasts gamboling in the water and being fed their quota of
milk from handheld bottles .
Thereafter continue to Kandy.
Lunch at the Hotel
Kandy , perhaps is
Sri Lanka's most beautiful town. Set 488 meters above sea level, and
next to Colombo, Kandy is Sri Lanka's most visited place. The focal
point of the town is the golden-roofed ‘Dalada Maligawa', where the
sacred tooth relic of the Buddha is enshrined. There are numerous
shrines and temples in and around Kandy, where you will see rare
paintings, frescoes, and stone carvings.

| Day 02 |
Kandy / Peradeniya / Kitulgala |
After breakfast, visit The Royal Botanic Gardens at ‘Peradeniya' where you could treat your eyes to an amazing, wide and rare collection
of tropical and temperate, exotic and indigenous flora, and an orchid
house with the largest collection in Asia.
Thereafter proceed to Kitulgala VIA Avissawella , Ruwanwella. Visiting Rubber plantation.
Lunch at the Hotel
Kithulgala is famous for swimming areas and for
the more adventurous it is one center for the white water rafting. Also
movie buffs may enjoy Sri Lanka's River Kwai - Kelani River, as this was
the location for the making of the 1957 movie “The Bridge on the river
Kwai”. You could indulge in white water rafting.

| Day 03 |
Kitulgala /Yala |
Mid morning leave to Yala via Ratnapura , Ratnapura – Gem City.
Throughout history, Sri Lanka has
been known as a land of gems. King Solomon was said to have procured a
great ruby for the queen of Sheba from Ceylon ( Sri Lanka 's former
name). Marco Polo (1293 AD) wrote about the ruby that once graced the
Ruwanweliseya Dagoba at Anuradhapura ..."a flawless ruby a span long.
Visit Gem lapidary and Gem Museum etc..,
Thereafter continue to Wellawaya ,
Tanamalvila visiting Tea Plantation Factory en route. Yala is situated
in extreme south-east of Sri Lanka .

| Day 04 |
Yala Jeep Safari |
Early morning visit Yala National
Park by 4X4 Jeep. The elephant is undoubtedly the best known attraction
at Yala, seen in small & large herds. Herds of spotted deer are seen
all over the park. Monkeys the pinkish rhesus and the grey faced Langur
monkey, live and play on the tree tops and the ground below. Wild
buffalo & wild boar could give a good surprise & the sight of a
leopard sunning itself or drinking water at a water hole could be
memorable experience. The peacock is easily the most famous of the birds
at Yala. The painted stork, many varieties of heron, the spoonbill, the
bee-eater, parakeets, and king-fisher & wood pecker are some of the
birds can be seen in the park.

Yala / Talalla |
After breakfast leave to Talalla via
Tissamaharama and Tangalle . Checking to the hotel and leisure Full day
at leisure on at the hotel . You may have opportunity to walk on the
beach and experience of Surfing etc..,

Dinner & Overnight at Talalla Retreat , Talalla or Similar.

| Day 07 |
Talalla / Colombo |
After breakfast leave to Colombo visiting Galle Dutch fort and Turtle hatchery at Kosgoda en route.
In this costal town, the Dutch
presence is still visible. Galle was an ancient port (said to be the
legendary Tarshish of the Bible) and our first international commerce
and trade centre. Today, Galle is the bustling provincial capital and
administrative centre of the south. It is famous for its lovely
Unawatuna Bay , where the sea is reef protected and therefore safe for
swimming. The old Dutch ‘Star' fort (a World HeritagesSite) covering 36
hectares, the well-preserved Groote Kerk (Dutch Church), Dutch
Government House, the New Oriental Hotel (built in 1684) old bell tower
and a tide-based Sewage-System, also introduced by the Dutch. In Galle
they still make the Dutch ‘pillow-lace' and do fine ebony carving and
gem polishing. Thereafter continue to Bentota visiting a turtle hatchery
in Kosgoda en route.

Pm Brief city tour in to Colombo .
‘ Colombo ' ,
the Commercial capital of Sri Lanka . Like many capital cities in
developing countries Colombo is fast changing its face. In no time,
skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood, yet in some
parts; the old world charm is retained.
Embark on a shopping spree until
you drop in the famous Colombo shopping malls placing your hands on
world famous brands at unbelievable prices. ODEL, House of fashion,
Fashion Bug, Beverly Street, Crescat Boulevard, Majestic City and much m
ore. |
