Airport / Dambulla or Habarana |
Arrive at Bandaranaike
International Airport , Sri Lanka , the tropical paradise, and be warmly
greeted by our courteous staff who will garland you on arrival and
thereafter continue to Habarana via Kurunegala visiting paddy field and
coconut plantation en-rute.
Pm at Leisure or Optional Elephant back safari in Habarana.
Lunch at Local Restaurant .
Dinner & Overnight at Chaaya Village , Habarana or Similar .

| Day 02 |
Habarana or Dmbulla / Ritigala / Aukana |
After breakfast at the hotel, visit the Ritigala,
Ritigala
The Ritigala Buddhist Monastery nestles deep
inside the Ritigala Strict Nature Reserve, found just off the
Habrana-Anuradhapura road, and is the partially excavated ruins of an
extensive Buddhist Monastery. It was abandoned following invasions in
10th and 11th centuries and today
holds special appeal with its curious blend of nano-safari and archaeology.
Walking around the beautiful ruins does certainly give you a feeling of adventures in search of mythical pasts time
Lunch at the hotel
Thereafter continue to visit Aukana.
Aukana is located only few
kilometers from the Kalawewa, one of the reservoirs constructed during
the reign of King Dathusena (5th century AD), who is believed to have
commissioned this magnificent 12m high statue of the Buddha. The best
time to visit Aukana (literally sun eating) is at down, when the rays of
the rising sun light the statue with dramatic effect.

| Day 03 |
Habarana or Dambulla / Sigiriya / Polonnaruwa |
After breakfast at
the hotel, visit the Sigiriya Rock Fortress which is known as the 8 th
wonder of the world. This rock fortress was built by King Kasyapa in the
5 th century A.D. and was a royal citadel for more than 18 years. In a
sheltered a pocket, approached by a spiral stairway, are the famous
frescoes. The summit of the rock, with an area of nearly one hectare was
the site of the palace and the outer wall was built on the very brink
of the precipice. The UNESCO sponsored Central Cultural Fund has
restored Sigiriya 5 th century water gardens to their former glory.

Pm. Visit to Polonnaruwa. This
mediaeval capital is situated about 216 Km South East of Anuradhapura,
Parakrama Bahu the great, is generally considered the architect of this
lovely city. The remains of the Royal Citadel council chamber, prince's
bathing pool and the Gal Vihare, a stone temple with its colossal
sculptures of the Buddha in a quiet grove of trees as well as the still
functioning Parakrama Samudra, a man made reservoir, large than our
Colombo harbour, are on easy distance from each other. The new museum
has an excellent scale model of the ancient city as it was.
Thereafter return to the hotel. |

| Day 04 |
Habarana or Dambulla / Kandy |
After breakfast proceed to Dambulla rock temple. Dambulla rock
temple is a vast isolated rock mass and it was here that king
Valagambahu took refuge in the 01 st century B.C. He later turned the
caves into a rock temple. Dambulla is a world heritage site and is the
most impressive of Srilanka's cave temples.The complex of five caves
with over 2000 sq. meters of painted walls and ceiling found here are
over 2000 years old and is the largest area of painting found in the
world. The caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha of which the
largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock and
spanning 14 meters.

Thereafter continue to Kandy visiting a spice garden and batik factory in Matale en-route. Kandy ,
perhaps is Sri Lanka 's most beautiful town. Set 488 meters above sea
level, and next to Colombo , Kandy is Sri Lanka 's most visited place.
The focal point of the town is the golden-roofed ‘Dalada Maligawa',
where the sacred tooth relic of the Buddha is enshrined. There are
numerous shrines and temples in and around Kandy , where you will see
rare paintings, frescoes, and stone carvings.

| Day 05 |
Kandy /Peradeniya |
After breakfast, visit The Royal Botanic Gardens at ‘Peradeniya' where you could treat your eyes to an amazing, wide and rare collection
of tropical and temperate, exotic and indigenous flora, and an orchid
house with the largest collection in Asia.
Lunch at the Hotel
PM - You will have the opportunity to shop in
Kandy bazaar, where you could fetch souvenirs in wood, copper, silver,
brass, ebony, and bronze, ceramics, lacquer work, handlooms, batiks,
jewellery and rush and reed-ware. Late evening witness a kandyan
cultural dance performance.

| Day 06 |
Kandy / Nuwara Eliya |
After Breakfast
proceed to Nuwara eliya, which is the centre of the hill country,
visiting a tea plantation and witness the manufacture of the world's
famous “Ceylon Tea” en route.
Lunch at Local Restaurant
PM - Drive around Gregorys Lake
and sightseeing of Nuwara Eliya. Nuwaraeliya set in the heart of
tea-country, this beautiful town is where the British succeeded in
creating a replica of the English countryside, with homes in styles from
Georgian to Queen Anne. Well-kept lawns with hedges, an Anglican
church, a famous golf course and beautiful parks etc..,

| Day 07 |
Nuwara Eliya / Colombo |
After
breakfast, proceed to Colombo via Kitulgala visiting a tea plantation
and factory en-route where you will get to witness the production of the
world's finest tea. Kithulgala is famous for swimming areas and for the
more adventurous it is one center for the white water rafting. Also
movie buffs may enjoy Sri Lanka 's River Kwai - Kelani River , as this
was the location for the making of the 1957 movie “The Bridge on the
river Kwai”. You could indulge in whitewater rafting.

Pm Brief city tour in to Colombo .
‘ Colombo ' ,
the Commercial capital of Sri Lanka . Like many capital cities in
developing countries Colombo is fast changing its face. In no time,
skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood, yet in some
parts; the old world charm is retained.
Embark on a shopping spree until
you drop in the famous Colombo shopping malls placing your hands on
world famous brands at unbelievable prices. ODEL, House of fashion,
Fashion Bug, Beverly Street, Crescat Boulevard, Majestic City and much
more.
