Day 1 Airport / Negombo

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport.
Meet and assist at the airport and proceed to Negombo.
Check-in to Blue Oceanic Hotel (3*) for Dinner & Overnight stay.

Negombo

Day 2 Negombo / Pinnawela / Kandy

After breakfast checkout from the hotel and proceed to Kandy, en-route visiting Pinnawela Arrive at Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage - Department of National Zoological Gardens has setup this orphanage for baby elephants found abandoned by their mothers. This orphanage is the home for about 60 elephants. Often the young ones fall into pit sand ravines in their quest for water during the drought period. Other inmates at the Orphanage are those displaced from their natural environs by the development projects or those found diseased or wounded. The best time to visit is during the feeding times when one will have the opportunity of seeing the baby elephants being bottle-fed.
Check-in to Topaz Hotel (3*), Kandy
In the evening witness a cultural show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dancing.
Return to the Topaz Hotel for Dinner & overnight stay

Pinnawela

Day 3 Kandy / Peradeniya

After breakfast leave for Peradeniya to visit Royal Botanical Garden.
Do a city tour of Kandy. Drive around the Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhala king Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798. Kandy conjures visions of splendor and magnificence. Many of the legends, Kandy were the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, which is a world heritage site. The traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive.
Return to the hotel for Dinner & overnight stay

Peradeniya

Day 4 Kandy / Dambulla / Sigiriya / Dambulla

AAfter breakfast checkout from the hotel and proceed to Dambulla en-route visiting a Spice Garden and a batik factory at Matale.
Proceed to Dambulla and check-in to Culture Club Hotel (4*)
Afternoon transfer to Sigiriya and climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress Sigiriya- built by King Kashapa (477-495 AD). The ''Lion Rock'' is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 meters from the scrub jungle. The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70 hectare fortified town. A moat, rampart, and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens ring the base of the rock. Visit the world-renowned frescoes of the ''Heavenly Maidens'' of Sigiriya, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway. These frescoes are painted in earth pigments on plaster.
Thereafter return to Kandalama Hotel for Dinner & overnight stay.

Sigiriya

Day 5 Dambulla/ Polonnaruwa

After breakfast checkout from the hotel and proceed to Polonnaruwa for a sightseeing tour.
Polonnaruwa-The island's medieval capital rose to fame after Anuradhapura's decline. The largest of its many man-made reservoirs, the Parakrama Samudra, is larger than the Colombo harbor. Attractions: Ruins of the king's council chamber, the Royal Citadel, the Kumara Pokuna, the Royal Pavilion, the Vat adage Relic House (which is lavished with moonstones, guard stones, and a sculptured railing), Kiri Vehera, and Gal Vihare. Today's ruins however belong almost exclusively to the reigns of two kings. The city in it's day was fortified with three concentric walls, beautified with parks and gardens and sanctified by many a shrine and sacred place.

Polonnaruwa

Day 6 Polonnaruwa / Batticoloa

After breakfast do a day Excursion to Batticoloa to see the Sri Lankan traditional fishing types.
Afternoon return to the hotel for Dinner & overnight stay.


Day 7 Polonnaruwa / Anuradhapura / Habarana

After breakfast checkout from the hotel and proceed to Anuradhapura for a sightseeing tour.
Anuradhapura is located in the North-Central part of the island. It was the first capital and undoubtedly the grandest city of the ancient Sri Lanka. It is the home of two World Heritage sites. Many places of historical and archeological interest could be visited. Sri Maha Bodhi (sacred Bo-Tree) was brought as a sapling of the tree under which prince Siddhartha attained to enlightenment and it is over 2,200 years old and is the oldest historically documented tree in the world. At Brazen Palace (2nd century B.C), the 1600 stone columns you see are all that is left of a magnificent multi-storied residence for monks. Ruwanweliseya (2nd century B.C) is the most famous of all the Dagobas. It originally depicted the perfect "bubble shape" that modern restoration has not been able to accurately reproduce.

Habarana

Day 8 Habarana / Trincomalee

After breakfast do a day excursion to Trincomalee. Proceed to Trincomalee and do a city tour of Trincomalee.
The best beaches are Nilaveli, Kuchchaveli. North of Trincomalee town is magnificent with its natural harbour. (OPTIONAL : Do a boat tour to Pijan Island)
Thereafter return to Habarana for Dinner & overnight stay.
